Naked // Rebellion of David

NAKED
They will take you on a journey with their band through experiencing this album; leaving you enlightened, challenged, and changed as a result. Many of these songs were written from the stories of countless people they have talked to in their travels in the USA. Looking through the Bible, Jesus was pretty radical & the things he said not only answered the problems & questions of his day, but also ours. This album is dedicated to the youth, our generation! These lyrics deal with: issues of disillusionment with God & the church system as it was painted, war & its idiocy, revolution, persecution, sex, freedom, & love.
This album is a total must-hear! Anyone who doesn't is seriously missing out! I just got it and in one already listened to it 3 times in a row. Availible now to all! Enjoy.

Cool!
Will have a listen later.

Do these guys have their own site?

Paul said...

The band itself does not have it's own site, but they are the Prophet Bus dudes.

http://www.prophetbus.com/

Jesse said...

The sad thing is. It's only available for those with the mo site password. :(

Anonymous said...

It was probably made first for the ears of Family members, I guess :)

Jesse said...

Ur probably right!

Paul said...

Actually not. It is a GP album. But right now it's only availible fromn the MO site. As soon as it's up on the Glitch or somewhere else I'll change the links.

Hey Neo this is Jaz, I can send you the link for the dl of this album if you want.
The reason we released it on the MO site was for it to get to everyone around the world. I would like to have a website to post this from but we didn't have it together so well, and with the break up of the band during the making of this album (Chris and team moving on to the Ukraine) it's been hard to know how to release this, on what site, who should get credit etc. So I thought the MOsite would be our best result
I don't know how long this link here is still available but here it is:

Thanks so much Jaz. I have to say, this album is the best thing that has happened since Bounty of Dragons! It's my 3rd favorite album of all albums!
BTW, I want to make a mmv of "Slay Me", and I was wondering if you have a film of you guys performing it?

Jaz, Clare and Dune said...

Oh no we don't want any mv of these songs, we wanted to work on some videos of these in the near future, if that's ok! tks for the comments, and ha, that's cool next to Bounty of the Dragons, different feeling of course right? take care, Jaz

Paul said...

Ha, no, I wasn't comparing you to BOD -- I was saying that since BOD (September 21, 2007) there hasn't been anything that's as good yet. It's sooo good.

Jesse said...

Something's just wrong about this.
Somehow.

Paul said...

Nothings wrong!

Phil said...

could you post it on your blog? txs. don't just give a link to the fam website because im an ex-member who doesn't have the password.
and no don't worry im not anti and i wont use this song for vandari-fueled schemes. :) it was my favorite family song when i was still in, and i'd love to hear it again. :)

There you go. This one is actually a remix but its bascially the same. It'll probably end up on a upcoming Joni Myers section.

ok i got it to work, but sorry to say that is a horrible version of that song.
you dont know where i can get the old old OLD version?

Patrick O'Connor said...

great album! to tell the truth at first i didnt download it because some of the demo's i had heard were heartfelt but uh.... kinda rough. But these songs are great! thanks

Paul said...

Sorry about that Arianne, I don't have the really old version.

Jesse said...

I really wish I could hear the CD version.

All the best "Rebellion of David."

3Ddude said...

where can i get the lyrics?

Patrick man: I agree with you totally! There used to be this... guy in our home who really liked the demos and I was like... "ok, that stuff's never reaching my computer" and I hesitated when the album came out. Then I saw what Neo said about it and I thought "well, either he has weird taste or... It's worth a try" so I did and it's good! Yes, for sure well worth listening to! God bless these people!

Arianne: Umm... that's a really cool name! It sounds like "Arielle + Marianne" or maybe just marianne without a M... no, and I'm not making fun of you! Anyways... umm... i felt sorry that you couldn't find the song, so I decided to try to find it and I believe and hope that I have it. However, I have no idea how I would post it or anything of the sort cause I don't have a blog. Blogs are yucky... Blogs are for people who have tons of time and don't know what to do with ot. It's also for people who want to ruin their eyes, since writing on a notebook would be a much better option for a diary! :D :D :D
Ok ok, I'm sorry! I wasn't dissin' anyone! I promise! blogs are good!! Besides, how would we get all this cool music?
Ok, I'm sorry Arianne, I need to get to the point; you're right. Ok, so I hope I've found it and so maybe if you give me your... email ad... I could send it to you. Of course, you might be thinking "Email ad??? What if this guy is some weird freakazoid and is just trying to get something from me??!!" No, not really. I actually want it because I would like to have you as one of my personal sheep :D:D:D :P:P:P No, no, no, don't worry and please don't get scared and please don't stop reading (even though if this comment gets much longer, I wouldn't blame you). I just want to help you as you seem sincere and cool. So if you're still around and maybe look at this entry or something again (Lord, make this happen, as I think it would do her good), then don't hesitate to tell me and I could send you the song that I think might be what you're after. Of course, if you're worried that some other freak might see your email ad and write to you, then I will tell you mine and you can send me a letter... And no, this is not my ways of getting girls to write me, though it sounds pretty good, no? :D :D :D (this whole grin smiley is getting quite lame and routine...)
I hope I didn't bore all of you to death and please ENJOY THE REST OF YOUR LIVES FOR CHRIST!!! You only have one life and if you mess it, I don't think you get to have another chance. So enjoy every bit of it and make it count, cause life should anything BUT a drag! And don't get stressed! Don't even think of getting stressed! If you feel some stress in any form, refuse to interact with it and instead you can just be lazy and... oh oh, i mean, you can instead just relax and enjoy life a bit more. And the reason I serve Him is because when those times to relax and enjoy life come around, He makes it the best time ever! Love you all!

Um... so weird that you call me mr. ... that's like when I log into yahoo and they say "welcome, mr something, you have no new messages in your inbox." I'm glad that I could help and I really do hope it's the right one. I listened to it and it DEFINITELY sounded really, really, really old.
Have a good life :)

no prob

Jesse said...

I still don't know why these guys don't have their own site. lol.

Paul said...

Read further up the comment box, Jaz explains why.

Jesse said...

Too bad your band broke up Jaz.

Paul said...

Yeah, it is very sad!

Jesse said...

Listened to "Face to Face."

Very nice.

Unknown said...

Get "Slay me".

Phil said...

yeah it's a great recording, and fab mastering, the only beef:D I have are the extended musical interludes in the middles. They're cool but I think a bit long.....anyways It's a cool melodic saga type of sound, but yeah slay me, Face to Face, Give me revolution, Mustard Seed, War, and No price too high, are all top notch, and the others are decent too

Paul said...

Yes I agree with you. The album is about 64 mins & a bit. So they can afford to take 2 mins off Naked & 1 min off Face To Face & Mustard Seed.

mark said...

Hella good album! LOVE this band!

Least favorite part? The guitars...
I just didn't like the tone, though Chris is a great guitarist (i bow) they just came across as muddy.

Jason said...

Well done nudists, great album!

3Ddude said...

I just realized that in the title of "No Price To High" the to is supposed to be too. :P

Paul said...

thanks I'll fix it

ryan said...

give me revolution is so very, very good, i didnt think i could like jaz's style b4, but hey its not as bad as i thot. and of course, the best thing is that it sounds very sincere and heartfelt, the most major must in my books...

Paul said...

Yes that is so true. Whithout the heart & the fire teh music is often dead. This music is so alive!

Drakeot said...

When their album came out I was like "Whoa, not these guys again." because I'd heard some of his old recordings and I was like "Please, no!" But they actually are really good now. Of the old ones I really disliked "Why do you stone us" but I actually am almost considering it my favourite in this new album. They really touched it up, I could hardly recognize it as the same song!

Paul said...

Wow, you've heard it before this album? How come I never heard those old recordings? Maybe they kept it from me on purpose, ha ha!

Drakeot said...

Yeah, I don't know, but almost all of the songs that Godfrey sang in Kicking up a Storm, I heard the ancient recordings of. You really didn't miss anything in not hearing them though. He's really improved especially in his singing since then GBH!

Jaz, Clare and Dune said...

those "ancient recordings" we're just rough demos.

Paul said...

And being the collector of ever bit & bite of recordings, demos, & live concerts, I am depressed that I don't have them. I'd love to hear some of Jaz's origionals to later-pubbed-by-Godfrey songs, as well as ones that never got pubbed but that I heard live.

i.e. "As If I'm Blind" (which he promised to send me, like, 3 or 4 years ago) & "Piece of Dirt" if it was ever made into a demo.

Drakeot said...

Ask Jaz to send them to you, if he still has them.

Unknown said...

Yes that's easy. Ha -I have no way of contacting him.

Drakeot said...

Don't tell me that, I'm sure he knows about you. You've just got to post your e-mail and ask him to send it to that. Although, I'm not sure if he'd want to.

Unknown said...

Yeah, I'm not sure either.
